Harry Buerer directs the choir at Cedar Hills Baptist Church in Portland, Oregon, which he’s done since 2001. He also has a strong interest in biblical languages and theology. In the mid-90s he attended a messianic group in Portland, which changed his life by opening his eyes to the Jewish roots of his faith in Jesus. As he has continued to study scripture over the years, he has become more and more convinced that we tend to harbor serious misunderstandings about the New Testament if we ignore its Jewish cultural background.
